In this edition we will give you a sneak preview of two most talked about impending releases of Sage i.e. Sage CRM 7.0 and Sage Accpac 5.6.

From Greytrix R n D world, you already know about our success of our module TDS which has become the de-facto module for Sage Accpac ERP in India. We are releasing another module known as “Form Tracker” for tracking your C, F form etc through your Sage Accpac system.

In Sage CRM world, we will give you a brief idea as to how SMS integration component to integrate Indiatimes will operate from with Sage CRM.

Sage CRM 7.0 – What’s New?

The new features of Sage CRM v7 are:

  • The interactive dashboard
    The dashboard in SageCRM 7.0 is a lot more flexible than in previous versions. The dashboard provides an iGoogle-type experience with the concept of a workspace, with drag and drop gadgets. Gadgets can feed information from multiple data sources, both external and internal. Gadgets can contain anything from filtered lists to external RSS feeds — they can even incorporate workflow.
  • Active directory provisioning
    Importing of Windows Active directory and quick set up.
  • SData provider
    Sage Data (SData) is a standard that allows for sharing of data with third party applications in a read-only format. All primary and secondary entities can be exposed for SData access. An SData feed can also be used within the application — an example is showing a feed of price information within the interactive dashboard.

  • Interface enhancements and product branding updates
    Easy to update CSS file to provide your own custom theme modification and color schemes for Sage CRM along with updated icons
  • Mixed and system expiry licensing
    Both Named and Concurrent users will be supported by Sage CRM.

Sage Accpac ERP 5.6: A new way to manage your finance and operations.

SAGE ACCPAC5.6 offers a new set of functionalities to your good old SAGE ACCPAC5.5. The additional features are recommendations by customers and some nice to have skills.
Breeze through to get a hint of what in SAGE ACCPAC5.6 can benefit you

  • Simplified Installation : The installation of the various SAGE ACCPAC Modules can be done from a single screen and no need to install the modules separately, choose the modules you want and they get installed instantly
  • Bank Reconciliation : New and improved bank reco offers 1 single tab in place of the four different tabs used to do the reco. Transaction history inquiry enables you to drill down to the source when performing the reco.
  • Dedicated Bank Entry : Dedicated bank entry allows you to handle more complicated transaction , alongwith distribution sets/codes.
  • Financial Suite: Trial Balance can now be printed using YTD & Net period values
  • Customer Inquiry : In place of the customer activity we now have the customer inquiry screen , which gives a complete 360degree view of the customer . The customers can be searched on document number or on customer number. You can also create lists of your customers eg create a list of customers who are coming close to credit expiry , payment reminders etc.
  • Original Document number in receipt: the new functionality enables you to choose Original Document number in receipt when applying retainages etc.
  • Serial Number and Lot Tracking : SN & LT have been combined to make a single module, with SN & LT , Inventory costing of SAGE ACCPAC is complete.
  • PJC: Ability to print revenue recognition and Billing work Sheets, quick search for Projects & Contracts.
  • Sage CRM integration : Even tighter integration now supported, Lot and Serial Numbers are integrated as well, National Accounts is now supported in CRM , you can specify a sales person when promoting a company to SAGE ACCPAC, Quote Tab for opportunity is now available
  • Reporting & Manuals: New and improved reporting , many reports have been modified and some new reports have been added.
 
Form Tracker: C, H Form in Sage Accpac ERP

Form C is issued by the dealer for purchasing goods from the dealer outside the state in which he resides the effect can be understood by looking at following example IF Mr. A Registered Dealer in Hyderabad (AP) wants to purchase goods from Mr. B a registered dealer in Mumbai. Mr. B who is selling the goods will charge VAT @ 4% or 12.5% on the goods if Mr. A issues him “C” Form then Mr. B should Charge him CST @ 2% so Mr. A is Saving Tax.

H form is a Certificate to be issued by an Exporter in respect of purchases of goods affected by him after and in pursuance of an export order and which are sold by him in the course of Export, in order to enable the Seller to claim deduction as goods sold in the course of Export.

Greytrix Statutory Form Maintenance module for Sage Accpac ERP that allows the dealer to keep a track of the various statutory forms applicable, like say form c, h, etc , to customers as well as vendors. Also, track the various forms received from various vendors/customer. During the invoice generation the various forms applicable are maintained.

Greytrix Statutory module along with Sage Accpac ERP keeps the track of these forms using optional fields, whenever user does any transaction using PO/OE invoice and selects the required forms in the PO/OE Invoice, these forms are tracked right from Operational to financial module… i.e. PO/OE to AP/AR. Now when we are having the form type against the Invoices, we can enter the form number from statutory module. We can even get the report which will help us to maintain the statuary data.

 
How SMS – Add-on for Sage CRM can help you?

SMS Add-on for Sage CRM is one of the most interesting add-ons to come out of Greytrix labs. In India, we are presently supporting Indiatimes SMS services. The main features are:

  • Send text messages as easily as emails to individuals and groups. Messages can be sent from contact records to individuals, mail-merged groups or from workflow triggers.
  • Receive inbound texts to Sage CRM communication section and store it against the proper contacts or company.
  • Set up reminder texts messages for your meetings throughout the calendar.
  • Configure Workflow to send process stage messages. Update your customers after his service request or his quote has moved to the next stage
  • Immediate direct communication to contacts wherever they may be.
  • Save money by Avoiding costly phone calls and letters.

SMS Add-on is more of a configuration option rather than a pure product and hence would require a proper discussion as to how this can be added in your CRM system to make it most effective.

Selecting an ERP system for your organization is one thing and seeing it implemented and reaping its fruits is a different thing and has to be managed. It is very important to let anything grow in your organization, if we take a real life example , we buy a new pet if we buy it as a new born the pet adopts to us very well and is a part of our family very soon, but on the contrary if we buy one which is bigger there is a time gap which has to be surpassed before we get comfortable with each other . So it is very important for us to let the ERP grow with us, we shouldn’t insist on a full grown system, the adaptability of the users takes time and we may end up not using it altogether , it may turn out to be a white elephant , consuming your resources, high maintenance costs and not giving much in return.
